Scope and contact

This policy applies to personal information handled through the Folii iOS app. Folii is the provider of the services described in this policy. Please read it before use. For privacy questions or requests concerning your personal information, contact demzerhayatez@icloud.com. This policy also explains support requests sent to our official contact email. Folii welcomes plant lovers worldwide; local law may give you additional rights.

Account and profile information

When you create and use an account, the app handles your email address, protected password information, sign-in status and agreement records for account identification and access management. Registration and use do not require a birth date or age-band selection. You choose whether to provide a nickname, avatar, bio and growing story for your profile. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information.

Content and interactions

The app handles plant profiles, care plans, care entries, posts, comments, follows, saved items, gift records, messages and attachments that you create or select to provide the corresponding features. Consider the audience of your content before including personal information. Do not submit another person’s private information without permission. Content labeled as an automatic reply is generated automatically; take that label into account when reading it. Your private records and selected attachments remain on the current device, managed separately by account. They do not synchronize across devices. Messages saved in Folii are not delivered to another device.

Camera, Photos and microphone permissions

Folii requests the relevant iOS permission when you choose a feature that needs it. You can decline, choose which photos are accessible, or change permissions in iPhone Settings. Declining or withdrawing permission does not affect features that do not require it. The video screen shows a local camera preview and a static profile image without a remote audio or video connection. The preview is not recorded, saved or uploaded by that screen.

Camera

Used to capture photos or videos you choose to add and to display the camera view you enable. Enabling the camera does not automatically save its view. Captured media is added to a record only when you choose to use it.

Photos and files

Used to select avatars, plant photos, post images and message attachments. You can use limited Photos access in iOS. The app uses only content you authorize and select.

Microphone

Used for voice or video recordings that you start. You can stop recording or cancel adding the recording at any time.

Plant records and preferences

Plant names, species, photos, placement descriptions, care dates and plans organize your plant profiles and care activities. Placement is a description you enter and does not involve reading your geographic location. Preferences such as language and notice read status maintain the experience you choose.

Apple App Store purchase information

Sprout Coin purchases are processed by the Apple App Store. Folii does not receive your card number or Apple Account password. The app receives product information, order identifiers, transaction status and purchase records to confirm purchases, credit coins and avoid duplicate credits. Apple handles payment and refund information under its privacy policy and applicable rules.

Use of personal information

We handle relevant information only to provide features you choose, manage account access, organize and display content, handle purchase and gift records, respond to support requests and comply with applicable law. Processing is based on providing the service, your authorization or consent, or another basis permitted by applicable law. Where separate consent is required, we will explain the processing and request consent beforehand.

Sharing and third-party services

Folii does not sell or rent personal information or use advertising or cross-app tracking services. We do not provide personal information to third parties except for displays you choose, purchase and system services provided by Apple, processing you consent to, or as necessary to meet legal obligations. Information you send to support is transmitted through email services and used only to handle the relevant request.

Information protection and retention

We use safeguards appropriate to the information and its purpose, including access controls and encryption, to protect against unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Information is retained only as long as needed to provide services, handle requests and fulfill legal obligations. Keep your account password and iPhone unlock information secure. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. Keep important content before removing the app or changing devices. Device loss, app removal or account deletion can remove local records; signing in on a new device does not recover them.

Your rights and choices

You can view and edit your profile, delete your content, change saved-item and blocking settings, or withdraw permissions in iPhone Settings. Subject to applicable law, contact demzerhayatez@icloud.com about access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or withdrawal of consent. To protect your account, we may request information necessary to verify the request. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Account deletion and removal of information

You can start deletion at Me > Settings > Account > Delete account. After confirmation, the app removes the account’s profile, content, messages, attachments, care records and unused Sprout Coins. Deletion cannot be undone. Necessary transaction references retained by law or to prevent duplicate purchase credits are not used for other purposes. Apple’s purchase records are retained under its policies and are not removed by deleting a Folii account. Keep important content and review your balance before deletion.

Children and minors

Minors should use the service with a guardian’s guidance and any consent required by applicable law. Avoid providing unnecessary age or identity information in profiles or content. If you believe a minor’s personal information has been provided or used inappropriately, contact demzerhayatez@icloud.com with enough information to identify the relevant content.

Policy updates and concerns

Updates to this policy will state their effective date. Material changes to personal information handling will be brought to your attention appropriately; further consent will be requested where legally required. You may first contact demzerhayatez@icloud.com about a concern. Your right to complain to a competent regulator or seek a legal remedy is unaffected.
